Nigerian Army general “Olubunmi Irefin” dies after contracting Coronavirus

Major-General Olubunmi Irefin, and the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Port-Harcourt, dies of Coronavirus.

Irefin passed on after contracting the dreaded disease COVID-19 while attending the annual Chief of Army Staff Conference in Abuja.

As reported, the participants, including Principal Staff Officers, GOCs, Commandants of Army schools, Commanders of Army Operations, and others, who were present during the annual conference have been asked to embark on 14 days isolation.

President Buhari who declared the conference open on Monday 7th December, has remained resolute in the discharge of its constitutional roles and in keeping the welfare of soldiers a priority.

Buhari also hailed the Army’s intervention in the management of the Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
