Suspected bike snatcher nabbed, and burnt to death in Ibadan

A presumed hoodlum was singed to death by a furious horde in Ibadan, Oyo State capital for supposedly snatching bike from an ‘Okada man.’

The episode occurred around 7:20 am on Friday, December 4, at the Mile 110 indirect finish of the MKO Abiola Way, Ring-Road, Ibadan.

As indicated by an observer, furious young people pursued the two burglars from Olomi territory where they had taken the bike and in the end got one of them around 110 Round About, Odo-Ona region of the city. They set him burning in the wake of beating him with clubs, stones and other risky articles.

It was accumulated that the business motorcyclist was shot on movement while being sought after by the looters before young people in the zone raised caution and gave them a hot pursue.

Representative of the State Police Command, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, who affirmed the occurrence, said the two burglars had grabbed the okada from Olomi territory of Ibadan and were followed by irate young people down to 110 Roundabout.

“The folks were two. They proceeded to grab okada (bike) at Olomi zone of Ibadan. Also, they were on the path, they were gotten at that Round About there, 110 Round About, where the horde cinched down on both of them.” he said.

“One got away and the other one was not fortunate, and they beat him to death. Furthermore, set him on fire there. The cruiser has been recuperated to the Oluyole Police station and the Divisional Police Officer ( DPO) is putting forth frenzied attempts to meet with the Ministry of Environment to clear the cadaver to the funeral home, while examination has started on the issue.” he added.
